Christopher J. Baclawski

Mr. Baclawski is the founding Managing Partner for CB Capital Partners which was established in 2001. Mr. Baclawski has participated in numerous corporate finance transactions, including mergers & acquisitions; initial, secondary and convertible subordinated debenture offerings; private placements of equity and debt securities; recapitalizations and go-private transactions, business valuations and fairness opinions. In aggregate, Mr. Baclawski has been involved in excess of $2.0 billion of transactional value. Mr. Baclawski's investment banking experience spans working in a variety of industries including digital media, retail & consumer, healthcare, financial services and technology.

Prior to forming CB Capital Partners, Mr. Baclawski held Investment Banking and Corporate Finance positions with firms such as Wells Fargo Securities, L.H. Friend & Co., T Rowe Price, Bankers Trust, and the Real Estate Asset Management divisions of both Goldman Sachs Company (Archon Group) and CB Richard Ellis Investors. Mr. Baclawski began his career in the financial services industry with AT&T's Global Business Financial Division and was the recipient of the 1994 AT&T Academic Achievement Award. Mr. Baclawski has lectured on various corporate finance topics both domestically and internationally and is active with a limited number of philanthropic activities.

Mr. Baclawski received a B. A. degree in Economics and Business with distinction from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1994 with a concentration in Biological Sciences. In addition, Mr. Baclawski is a founding charter member of TiE Orange County (which is now TiE South Coast) and currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Don Beall Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of California, Irvine, where he is a longtime supporter and sponsor of the Business Plan Competition at the Paul Merage School of Business, and is a co-developer of the school’s “Anatomy of Business” educational series.


Jules Jomsky

Mr. Jomsky has over 20 years experience in transactional financing including mergers and acquisitions, company recapitalizations, real estate acquisition, refinancing, development, and/or construction, and business working capital requirements. Mr. Jomsky also has an extensive background in small business lending completing over $2.5 billion in conventional and SBA (Small Business Administration) financings for his clients. Mr. Jomsky’s clientele and industry expertise is diverse; however, he has extensive experience in the hospitality, convenience store, gas station, and wireless industries. Mr. Jomsky also has international transaction experience completing with strong relationships in South America and Asia.

Prior to joining CB Capital Partners, Mr. Jomsky served as CCO for Cobblestone Financial Group a full service commercial real estate financing company specializing in procuring commercial loan financing for all properties types from owner user to large investment properties. He also played a key role in the acquisition, recapitalization, and 70% equity sale for $100 million of a mine in South America to a major Chinese State run company. Mr. Jomsky has also held positions in several major US Banks such as Comerica Bank and Premier Commercial Bank on both the Business Development and Credit Underwriting sides of commercial lending divisions.

Mr. Jomsky received a BA in Finance and Real Estate from California State University, Northridge and an MBA in Finance from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.


Riccardo Cannaviello

Mr. Cannaviello brings over 20 years of international and U.S. experience in investment banking, dealmaking, deal origination, high technology & life science commercialization, and entrepreneurship.

Mr. Cannaviello directed the origination, evaluation, and due diligence of multi-million dollar projects in Hong Kong and China for Millennium Capital Partners out of its offices in Beverly Hills and Hong Kong. He originated the largest initial public offering on Nasdaq in the early Nineties by Lehman Brothers Asia — Chinadotcom, the first Chinese internet company. He also provided advisory services to a $100MM (revenues) brewery in China and advised on matters of brand valuation, and defense from an unsolicited acquisition.

As a deal originator for investment banks, he has originated opportunities in:

  • Advanced facial recognition technology / frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) patent portfolio, applicable to facial recognition, autonomous vehicles, industrial robotics, remote sensing
  • FinTech platform that will revolutionize home equity
  • Algorithmic stock market trading and gaming innovation
  • Roll-up acquisitions of wireless internet service providers (ISPs)
  • Publishing, infrastructure contracting, apparel factoring, healthcare I.T., celebrity branded consumer packaged goods

Mr. Cannaviello was retained by early-stage technology clients to identify and secure corporate alliances with leading international corporations including Merck, Johnson & Johnson, Quidel, Becton Dickinson / CareFusion, Leica, BASF, Siemens, Qualcomm, Medtronic, Covidien, PerkinElmer, Excelitas, Intuitive Surgical, ABB, Teledyne, Waters Corporation, and Sony.

Mr. Cannaviello holds FINRA licenses: 79, 63, 24. He received a BA in Economics from Stanford and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.


Tauna K. Vandeweghe

Ms. Vandeweghe is a Director of Business Development for CB Capital Partners. Ms. Vandeweghe has over 20 years of global diversified financial and business development experience. She has played an integral role in a variety of assignments including mergers & acquisitions, fairness opinions, valuation, litigation, recapitalizations, divestitures, private placements of debt and equity securities and restructurings. She also has notable expertise in sports, technology, apparel and media. Ms. Vandeweghe comes from one of the most recognized family names in the sports industry. Her father Ernest Vandeweghe was a NY Knick and team doctor to the Los Angeles Lakers, her brother Kiki Vandeweghe was a multiple NCAA and NBA All Star, GM and Coach, and her daughter Coco Vandeweghe was a 2008 US Open Junior Champion and is currently ranked in the top 100 in professional tennis.

Considered as one of the top 50 athletes in California history, Ms. Vandeweghe brings a multifaceted expertise to the company. She competed in the 1976 Olympics in Swimming while attending UCLA, winning 5 NCAA titles, then went on to USC playing Volleyball, winning a NCAA Title then going on to the 1984 Olympic Volleyball team. Ms. Vandeweghe went on to a successful broadcast/journalism career in L.A., New York and Oregon, working with ESPN, Sports Channel and various Networks. She also became one of the major fund raisers in NY, working with charities, government and local entities, entrenching herself with numerous high profile financial individuals and institutions. Ms. Vandeweghe also worked on the initial stages of marketing for SoBe and marketing tours for Sugar Free Jello. She marketed and ran various non-for-profit events moving on to become the first women to be a General Manager for a men’s professional basketball team. Since she has relocated to California, she worked with Niken, in sales, developing marketing tools and also raising private equity.

Ms. Vandeweghe attended both the University of California at Los Angeles where she studied Communications, and the University of Southern California where she studies Broadcast Journalism.


Edlan Wang

Mr. Wang is an Analyst at CB Capital Partners. He has worked on a number of M&A, debt refinancing, and private placement assignments in various industries. Prior to his position at CB Capital Partners, Mr. Wang received a BA in Finance from Concordia University, Irvine, where he developed a solid foundation in financial analysis. In addition, Mr. Wang studied Computer Engineering at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he established a deep understanding of electronic hardware design and implementation, as well as full stack software development.


Matthew Seatter

Mr. Seatter is an Analyst at CB Capital Partners. He has worked on a number of M&A and private placement assignments in various industries. Prior to his position at CB Capital Partners, Mr. Seatter served as an Associate at The Jahnda Group, a Private Equity firm located in Newport Beach dedicated to strategic buyouts within the government contractor market. There he was responsible for deal sourcing, financial valuation and buy-side due diligence. Mr. Seatter holds a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Oregon.


Tristan Hanley

Mr. Hanley is an Analyst at CB Capital Partners. He has worked on a number of M&A, debt refinancing, and private placement assignments in various industries. Prior to his position at CB Capital Partners, Mr. Hanley served as a Summer Analyst at Amerigo Capital, a private equity firm located in Newport Beach, California. There he was responsible for managing deal sourcing campaigns, and helped evaluate investment opportunities by assisting with the completion of buy-side due diligence. Mr. Hanley received a BA in Finance and Accounting from the University of San Diego.

William J. Cox (In Memoriam)

Advisory Board Member ~ General Consultant

William Cox previously served as a Board Member on CB Capital Partners' Advisory Board. Mr. Cox is the Principal in Cox Financial Consultancy. He specialized in financial planning for high net worth individuals, functioning as their CFO in a virtual family office for each family with whom he works. In addition to the normal financial, estate planning and tax planning activities, Mr. Cox was particularly active in working with his clients on alternative investments.

Mr. Cox was a co-founder of Regenesis Bioremediation Products with Gavin Herbert and Dr. Stephen Koenigsberg. He joined the company as CFO when it began its active sales and marketing activities, after running the business planning and fund-raising activities in early days of the company’s evolution. Regenesis was one of the few environmental companies launched in the early-mid 1990s that ultimately proved to be a financial success. Mr. Cox was a Board member of the Company, and ultimately was promoted to President.

Prior to joining Regenesis Mr. Cox worked for Mr. Gavin S. Herbert, Chairman Emeritus of Allergan, and his extended family on his personal financial and business activities for 14 years. For part of that time he was also Controller of Nelson Research, a pharmaceutical development company listed on the NASDAQ. Earlier in his career Mr. Cox held various financial positions at Nichols Institute. Prior to that he was a Director of Financial Analysis at Allergan Pharmaceuticals and a CPA at Coopers and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers).

Mr. Cox holds a Bachelor’s degree from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.


Michael Lutton

Advisory Board Member ~ Real Estate & Finance Consultant

Michael Lutton is a prominent real estate professional with a long and distinguished business career dealing with global banks and investors.

Mr. Lutton is the founder and co-managing partner of Tieback Holdings, LLC. He has in excess of 32 years of commercial and residential real estate experience in the development, management and sale of properties throughout the United States. Mr. Lutton has developed in excess of ten million square feet of space. This includes a recent venture with Goldman Sachs to develop the 33-story Sapphire Tower in downtown San Diego, California.

Previously, Mr. Lutton served for four years as Executive Managing Director for Cushman & Wakefield, specializing in consulting for on and offshore clients. He also served for five years as Chairman and CEO for the PM Realty Group. Mr. Lutton began his career with The Irvine Company where he worked for nine years as the President of the Office and Industrial division.

Mr. Lutton is an active member of several boards including GC Barnes Group where he is Chairman of Real Estate Advisory Board, the master planned Canadian resort GAR96, Newport Digital Technologies, Inc. and Newport Rod and Gun Club. He is a member of the Cal Coast Chapter of YPO, and his industry affiliations include ULI and ICSC. Mr. Lutton is a licensed real estate broker (California #01415427). Mr. Lutton graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern California.


Rick Mina

Advisory Board Member ~ Consumer & Retail Consultant

Rick Mina is a renowned retail expert with over 30 years of proven success in building and transforming iconic players in footwear, clothing, wholesale and sourcing.

Rick spearheaded growth and profitability for a Fortune 500 company through many phases of a changing and dynamic world. Opening new markets to American retailing, he has worked closely with executive leaders on three continents, truly understanding how to navigate cultural differences in today's dynamic and ever changing business world. He has achieved turnaround success, led high level buyout and assimilation teams, and created infrastructures for start-ups.

As President and CEO of Foot Locker North America (NASDAQ: FL), he oversaw steady growth and profits for this $5 billion+ footwear and apparel brand with 3,600 retail stores in 21 countries. He grew comp store volume, acquired and integrated e-commerce capabilities, as well as competitors, into the portfolio. He initiated a groundbreaking deal with Nike - House of Hoops, a runaway Foot Locker success story that revolutionized the athletic specialty industry.

Throughout the past four years Rick has focused on private investments, including Active Ride Shop which he currently serves as CEO, ALS and Sneaker Villa. ALS, a branded wholesale footwear import company, was able to achieve a 42% increase in growth and lead to a successful acquisition. As a Director and investor in Sneaker Villa, Rick has aided in the rapid expansion of the retailer into 60 locations and growing.

Rick was a member of the Social Services Committee and served on the Board of Directors for the Two Ten Foundation, Inc., an organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people in the footwear industry. He received the Two Ten Foundation's 2006 T. Kenyon Holly Award for his humanitarian achievements throughout his career. He played an integral role in the development and growth of the Foot Locker Foundation, which today is a significant contributor to the United Negro College Fund's scholarship program.

Rick graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. A former scholarship athlete, he is an active member of the President's Council at his alma mater Fordham, as well as his high school St. Peters Prep.


Richard A. Schatz, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Advisory Board Member ~ Healthcare Consultant

Dr. Richard Schatz serves as a Board Member on CB Capital Partners' Advisory Board. Dr. Schatz is currently the Research Director of Cardiovascular Interventions at the Heart, lung, and Vascular Center and Co-Chairman of the Division of Cardiology at The Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California.

In 1985, Dr. Schatz began a collaboration with Dr. Julio Palmaz from UTHSC in San Antonio to help develop a novel approach to angioplasty. Together they pioneered the field of vascular stents. Dr. Schatz holds several patents as the inventor of a variety of coronary stents. Due to the successful development of the coronary stent and multiple patents, Dr. Schatz is recognized as an international expert in the area. He has published and lectured extensively on this topic and others in the field of cardiology.

Dr. Schatz attended Duke Medical School from 1973-1977 and studied at the Thoraxcenter in Rotterdam, Holland in 1976 with Drs. Hugenholz, Bom and Roelandt and at Oxford University, Oxford, England, and with Dr. David Weatherall. Dr. Schatz served his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco from 1977-1980. He did his cardiology fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and was a member of the cardiology staff from 1982-1987and as acting chief of the cardiology service from 1986 to 1987. From July 1985 to June 1987 he also held the position of Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Recognizing his career accomplishments, he was recently honored as the Distinguished Alumnus for 2003 and as Lifetime Scholar Award of the Barton Hayes Society, October 2005 by Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Schatz continues to work full time at Scripps Clinic as an interventional cardiologist, con-ducting clinical trials, teaching and lecturing worldwide.
